Beam 4G LTE Smart Router:
This device utilizes the standard size SIM card.
To insert the SIM card in the device the gold side will be facing the ground and you will place the end with the notch in first.
The customer will need to remove the SIM card from the device, then hold the reset button down for a full 10 seconds or until the lights on the device go off.
One the device resets it will display 2 blue lights on the 5.8G & the 2.4G lights on the device.
Have the customer unplug the device then the customer can now insert the SIM Card.
This device can take up to 5 minutes to recognize the SIM card.
This is what the device will look like when it is ready to connect.
If the device is not working please follow the steps below:
Factory Reset the Device
Make sure the customer is only connected to the Beam 4G LTE Device. (No Cellular data or other wifi networks)
You will then instruct your customer to look on the back of their device for the address to access the user interface of the device.
The customer will need to type 192.168.188.1 into the URL field of a web browser then press enter.
It will bring them here: USER NAME: admin PASSWORD: admin then click login
You will then direct the customer to click on Wizard.
This will automatically set the router's settings based on the SIM card inserted.
(It’s the 1st option on the left-hand side of the screen in red)
The Customer will Click Next
Make sure that the customer keeps the Manual APN set to OFF.
This device will auto-detect the correct APN
They will then click Next
^The customer will leave this set to what comes up automatically and click Next
^ The customer will have the option on this screen to update their Network Names and Passwords for both of their Networks.
(This is not something that needs to be done and the customer can do this at a later time) Have them Click Next
^ This screen will let the customer know that the set up is completed and they will click Finish
Firmware Updates and Factory Reset/Reboot
The customer can update firmware from the user interface as well.
They will need to click Device Management on the left hand side of the screen
The customer can click System Management to Change their PW
Manually Change APN -
1.Factory reset the device by holding the reset button located on the back of the device for 20 seconds(lights will go off and come back on)
2. Connect to the Beam device using a phone/computer etc
3. Enter 192.168.188.1
4.Login- Username:admin Password:admin
5.Continue through setup (no changes needed)
If the device is still not working follow step 6
6. Click on network settings than 4G Internet
7. Turn on APN Manual switch.
8. Enter name as OTR Mobile click confirm.
9. In the APN field enter apn
(Verify Plan Code and reference the Plan codes and APN's article in Knowledge base )
then click confirm.
10. Restart the device
